The postcard piece Powerpoint for London Sinfonietta was selected and performed on May 15th. It was premiered as a cello solo by Joely Koos. A recording can be found on the LS YouTube site beginning around nineteen minutes in. Many thanks to the Sinfonietta for organising their lockdown events and to Joely for a wonderful reading.

- Fieldwave held a series of workshops in Bethnal Green, London in March 2020. Hosted by Kate Carr and Nonclassical, the event gave an opportunity to use a range of different microphones to obtain sound materials locally. Currents 1 was developed from this and is a small collage layering hidden sounds from light sources and electrical outlets. Many thanks to the Nonclassical team and posting the piece on their site.
Matinal is to be premiered in Athens, Greece in a concert curated by composer Ilias NIkolaidis in an evening featuring four new works. Many thanks to Ilias and the organisers for inviting me to be a part of the event.
A recording of five new oboe solos has been added to Soundcloud today. They have been edited from a session completed with oboist Penny Smith in January 2019. The pieces are new and were composed between July and December 2018 begun in Valencia and finished in Surrey England.
The works will be edited and finished for publishing and hopefully premiered in 2019.
The graphic score Atrial for solo violin had a score reading by the violinist Mieko Kanno at the VIPA performance academy. The opportunity proved a useful tool to hear the work for the first time and receive constructive feedback from the team and ideas for improvements and further performance. I’m very grateful to the VIPA organisers for the opportunity and Mieko for selecting the score.
A new piece Fences for piano and vibraphone, a commission from the Valencia International Performance Academy, was premiered on July the 18th by pianist Anna D’Errico and percussionist Juanjo Llopico. The work was in a programme alongside pieces by Jorge Grossman, Stefano Gervasoni and Emmanuel Berrido.
A new piece for piano and vibraphone has been commissioned for the Valencia International Performance Academy Festival 2018. It will be approximately eight minutes in length and played by pianist Anna D’Errico and percussionist Juanjo Llopico. Premiere to take place in July at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquin Rodrigo in Valencia, Spain.
A new graphic score piece called “Atrial” has been submitted to the University of Vienna, Sounds of Matter competition. The piece uses carbon atomic structures weaved with a map of holes in the heart and annotated with atom angle number sequences to create a score for solo violin. The submission is for the violin solo only with future plans for an installation against a backing track of an irregular heartbeat and visual heart footage.
